Decide by role, solo or group play and your favorite race. WoW Forever launches on **4 November 2026** and brings classic Azeroth back: a level cap of 60, Classic talent trees and nine classes. It also adds new race and class combinations and a new race, the **Skyborne**. This guide helps you find the right class for launch. For the quick route, take the [Forever quiz](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/class-quiz). ## What is different from retail? Coming from modern WoW, you will need to adjust. Classes in Forever have fewer abilities per rotation, but resources, positioning and preparation matter much more. Leveling takes far longer, and classes without self-healing need regular breaks. Not every role is equally open to every class either, as talent trees are built around one main job. ## The 9 classes by role - [![Warrior: Orc warrior with a grim look in heavy, spiked plate armor](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/warrior.webp)**Warrior**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/warrior) - [![Paladin: Draenei with glowing eyes, a large shield and golden armor](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/paladin.webp)**Paladin**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/paladin) - [![Hunter: Night elf woman with long blue hair and face markings in green armor](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/hunter.webp)**Hunter**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/hunter) - [![Rogue: Worgen in dark armor, crouching in the shadows](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/rogue.webp)**Rogue**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/rogue) - [![Priest: Priestess with braided hair in white and gold armor](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/priest.webp)**Priest**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/priest) - [![Shaman: Orc shaman with braids, surrounded by lightning](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/shaman.webp)**Shaman**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/shaman) - [![Mage: Mage with brown hair casting purple arcane magic](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/mage.webp)**Mage**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/mage) - [![Warlock: Hooded figure with glowing red eyes, chains and spikes](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/warlock.webp)**Warlock**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/warlock) - [![Druid: Druid with tusks and feathers in green and gold armor](https://findyourmain.com/images/classes/druid.webp)**Druid**](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/druid) | Role | Classes in WoW Forever | | --- | --- | | Tank | [Warrior](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/warrior), [Druid](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/druid), [Paladin](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/paladin) | | Healer | [Priest](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/priest), [Paladin](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/paladin), [Shaman](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/shaman), [Druid](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/druid) | | Ranged | [Mage](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/mage), [Warlock](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/warlock), [Hunter](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/hunter), Priest (Shadow), Shaman (Elemental), Druid (Balance) | | Melee | [Warrior](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/warrior), [Rogue](https://findyourmain.com/en/forever/classes/rogue), Paladin (Retribution), Shaman (Enhancement), Druid (Cat) | ## Solo or group? **Lots of solo play:** Hunter and Warlock are the classics. Their pet holds enemies, and they get far without a group. The Mage levels quickly with area damage but takes practice. More in the guide [fastest leveling class in WoW Forever](https://findyourmain.com/en/guides/fastest-leveling-class-wow-forever). **Prefer groups:** healers and tanks are likely to be worth their weight in gold in Forever, just as in Classic. As a Priest, Paladin, Shaman or Druid healer you will always find a group. The Warrior is the most sought-after tank but levels slowly alone. **PvP:** Rogue, Warrior, Mage and Priest have a long PvP tradition from Classic that they are likely to continue in Forever. ## Use the new combinations Forever allows combinations that didn't exist before, such as **Undead Paladins**, **Dwarf Shamans** or **Orc Mages**. If your favorite class used to be locked to the other faction, you now have new options. All details are in our guide to [races and classes in WoW Forever](https://findyourmain.com/en/guides/wow-forever-races-classes). ## Our tip Pick a class whose fantasy carries you. WoW Forever is a long journey, and a class you enjoy will still be fun after 50 hours.
