Best WoW Class for Solo Play in Midnight – Classes for Lone Wolves

Not everyone wants to group up every evening. Quests, delves, world quests, professions and exploration are great on your own in WoW, and some classes are much better at it than others.

What makes a good solo class

• Self-healing: there is no healer, so you have to look after yourself.
• A companion: pets hold enemies and give you room to breathe.
• Sturdiness: heavy armor and defensive abilities forgive big pulls.
• Escape and control tools: when things get out of hand, you need a way out.

The best classes for solo players

• Hunter
• Death Knight
• Paladin
• Warlock
• Demon Hunter
• Druid

Hunter

The Hunter is the solo classic. Your pet tanks for you, you deal damage from range, and Feign Death gets you out of almost anything. Beast Mastery is especially relaxed.

Death Knight

As Blood, the Death Knight is nearly unkillable: Death Strike heals more the more damage you have taken. That lets you take on big packs and tough elites alone. Unholy adds undead minions on top.

Paladin

The Paladin has self-healing, plate armor and several panic buttons. As Retribution you clear the world quickly, and as Protection you are almost indestructible.

Warlock

For a cloth class, the Warlock is surprisingly good solo. A Voidwalker holds enemies, Drain Life heals you, and Healthstones are always on hand. Affliction and Demonology feel especially safe on your own.

Demon Hunter

The Demon Hunter shines with mobility and self-healing. As Vengeance it is tough, as Havoc it is fast. Thanks to double jump and glide, exploring is a joy.

Druid

The Druid can heal itself in a pinch, tank as a bear and has travel forms for every environment. It is the pick for anyone who wants to stay flexible solo.

Also playable solo, but more demanding

Rogue, Mage and Priest handle solo play fine but need more attention, since they lack self-healing or wear light armor. With some experience they are still a good choice.
