Six classes can tank in WoW Midnight: Warrior (Protection), Paladin (Protection), Death Knight (Blood), Monk (Brewmaster), Druid (Guardian) and Demon Hunter (Vengeance). Blood Death Knight and Protection Paladin are the most forgiving for beginners.
Tanks are the backbone of every group: they draw the enemies' attention, set the pace in dungeons and hold the boss in place in raids. In return, a tank almost always finds a group right away. Six classes can tank in WoW, and each one feels different.

Which tank suits you?
For beginners: the Blood Death Knight and the Protection Paladin are considered especially forgiving. Both have strong self-healing and plenty of panic buttons.
For mobility: Vengeance Demon Hunter and Brewmaster move fast and are great for the pace of Mythic+.
For classic fans: the Protection Warrior is the tank many remember from the old days: shield up, gather the pack, hold the line.
For flexibility: the Guardian Druid can shift into other forms between fights and is at home in every role.
Tips for new tanks
- Learn the dungeons. As a tank you lead the group, and knowing routes and packs matters more than a perfect rotation.
- Use your defensives actively. Many tank deaths happen because defensive abilities are pressed too late or not at all.
- Stay calm. A tank who communicates clearly makes every group better.
