How It Feels
The Mistweaver heals with soft, jade-green mists that drift through the group. Renewing Mist wanders from ally to ally, Vivify lets everyone breathe again, and in emergencies you wrap a teammate in a protective cocoon.
What makes it special is the choice between two stances: you can heal the classic way from range or, depending on talents, jump into the fray and heal through your strikes. Depending on how you play, the Mistweaver feels completely different.
How Mistweaver Works
The Mistweaver heals with mana:
- Spread mists: Renewing Mist heals over time and jumps on when the target is full.
- Heal broadly: Vivify heals your target and also every ally with Renewing Mist.
- Single target: Enveloping Mist heals over time and increases the healing the target receives from you.
- Emergencies: Life Cocoon protects a target with a big shield, Revival heals the whole group and removes harmful effects.
- Yu'lon: the Jade Serpent heals alongside you for a while and makes Enveloping Mist cheaper.
Key Abilities
- Renewing Mist: healing over time that jumps on to injured allies.
- Vivify: heals your target and all allies with Renewing Mist.
- Enveloping Mist: strong healing over time on one target.
- Life Cocoon: wraps a target in a cocoon that absorbs a lot of damage.
- Revival: heals all nearby party and raid members and cleanses them.
- Invoke Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent: summons the Jade Serpent, who heals alongside you for a while.
Lore: Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent
Monks have existed in Pandaria for thousands of years. They rose up against the mogu empire and perfected unarmed combat when weapons were forbidden. Pandaren Monks were also trained on the Wandering Isle, the giant turtle Shen-zin Su.
The Mistweaver is dedicated to Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent, one of the four August Celestials. She stands for wisdom. Her temple lies in the Jade Forest, where Pandaren have sought her wisdom for generations, and that calm, healing power shapes the Mistweaver.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
- very mobile for a healer,
- two playstyles: ranged or melee,
- strong emergency tools like Life Cocoon and Revival,
- pleasant, flowing healing over time.
Weaknesses
- many tools, so getting into it takes time,
- leather, more fragile than a Holy Paladin in plate,
- slow solo, like most healers.
Who Is the Mistweaver For?
A good fit if you …
- want a mobile healer with its own touch,
- love Pandaria and martial arts,
- like switching between healing and fighting.
Probably not if you …
- want a very simple first healer, in which case the Holy Paladin or Holy Priest fits,
- want healing with few buttons.
Mistweaver, Brewmaster or Windwalker?
Brewmaster tanks with Stagger and brews, Windwalker is the kung fu fighter for damage. With a Monk you can play every role.
