Playstyle

The Mage casts arcane, fire and frost spells from range. It conjures food and water, later opens portals to the capital cities and takes enemies out with Polymorph. Frost Nova and Blink keep enemies at a distance.
Background and lore
In the classic world, the mage is the scholar among adventurers, trained in Stormwind, the Undercity or by the Kirin Tor. Mages conjure food and water for the whole group, opens portals to the capitals and turns enemies into sheep. In Classic that made them welcome in every group, not just for their damage.
Talent trees
Arcane
Arcane improves mana and utility. Presence of Mind makes your next spell instant, and Arcane Power briefly boosts your damage. Usually combined with Frost or Fire.
Signature abilities: Presence of Mind, Arcane Power
Fire
Fire is about big hits: Pyroblast as an opener, Blast Wave against groups and Combustion for a stream of critical hits. Lots of damage, but also lots of threat.
Signature abilities: Pyroblast, Blast Wave, Combustion
Frost
Frost is the tree for leveling and control. Ice Barrier protects you, Ice Block saves you from certain death, and Cold Snap resets your frost spells. Freezing enemies and keeping them at bay, that is Frost.
Signature abilities: Ice Barrier, Ice Block, Cold Snap
Who is the Mage for in Forever?
A good fit if you … want to cast spells from range and control groups of enemies.
Not ideal if you … want to tank or heal or need a lot of sturdiness.
New in Forever
The Orc Mage is a new combination, and Alliance Skyborne can be Mages too.
Test the Mage in the Forever arena or roll a combination with the random generator.
