How It Feels
The Restoration Druid heals like nature itself: patient, steady and forward-looking. You place Rejuvenations on your allies, let flowers bloom on the tank and let your healing carry the group before the big damage even arrives.
It feels proactive. Instead of reacting to falling health bars, you are already there when it happens. That takes some practice and overview, but it is especially fun if you like being one step ahead.
How Restoration Works
The Druid heals with mana and effects over time:
- Rejuvenation: heals over time, you spread it across many targets.
- Lifebloom: heals over time and heals strongly once more at the end. You usually keep it on the tank.
- Wild Growth: heals up to five allies over time, with the healing strongest at the start.
- Instant healing: Swiftmend consumes one of your effects over time for an instant strong heal, Regrowth heals directly and over time.
- Emergencies: Tranquility heals all nearby allies, Ironbark protects a target.
Key Abilities
- Rejuvenation: healing over time, the Druid's backbone.
- Lifebloom: healing over time with a strong heal at the end.

- Ironbark: reduces damage taken by an ally.
- Incarnation: Tree of Life: you become the Tree of Life and heal more strongly.
Lore: G'Hanir and the Emerald Dream
Restoration is the heart of druidism. Druids guard the balance of nature, and their healing power comes from the Emerald Dream, the primordial version of Azeroth guarded by the green dragonflight.
In Legion, Restoration Druids carried G'Hanir, the Mother Tree as their artifact, a staff holding the life force of an ancient tree. The first mortal Druid, Malfurion Stormrage, learned to heal nature under the demigod Cenarius, and Restoration Druids carry that tradition on to this day.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
- strong, steady healing over time,
- many heals possible on the move,
- Druid tools like Bear Form for emergencies,
- the iconic tree form.
Weaknesses
- proactive healing takes practice,
- sudden, big damage is harder to catch,
- slow solo.
Who Is the Restoration Druid For?
A good fit if you …
- like planning ahead and being one step ahead,
- love nature and healing over time,
- want to heal a lot on the move.
Probably not if you …
- prefer reactive play with direct heals, in which case the Holy Paladin or Holy Priest fits,
- like a healer with lots of totems, such as the Restoration Shaman.
Restoration, Balance, Feral or Guardian?
With four specs, the Druid can play every role. Balance fights from range, Feral as a cat, Guardian tanks as a bear.
